My girlfriend likes cats – A LOT! I have to admit I like them too. When she heard that the mother of this little boy died shortly after he was born she decided to bring him home. At first I had second thoughts, but seeing him and his little innocent look sorted that out. Well I must say after a few days of cleaning up the wet spots he was leaving around I had some more doubts – but that’s a whole other story.
Well shooting these guys isn’t as easy as it seems. Impossible to keep him still for more than quarter of a second. I had the camera on continuous shoot and had to run after him. Well experiences with him brought me to admire these cute postcards. I can’t figure out how those photographers shoot 3 or 4 of them all in perfectly cute positions.
Well enjoy it.

What a cutie, how can you resist!
I love all those softly-lit taupe and champagne colored pillows around the kitten. Marvelous lighting. You are so far ahead of me, it’s a wonder I don’t pack up my D80 and retire. I would never have thought to use 1600 ISO. Still learning digital.
Thanks O’Ross, no no no don’t retire! Shoot more. I must have shot 30 pictures to get one that worked on this series. I took 1600 ISO and put the camera on continuous shoot mode because Leo was running around and I couldn’t get him to stop. It being inside and as I had no other lighting I had to do that. It’s not ideal but the noise level isn’t too obvious. What’s your site?
Such a sweet photograph, it warms my heart I am definitely a cat lover.. puts a smile on my face!
This is such a lovely kitten.
The composition and tone is great.
Thanks Kristen and Juan, your photos are great too. and as I said before, getting a great shot of kittens is a lot of legwork – literally. 😉
